We, the wife and I, have never been more impressed with a bathroom scale as this one. Accurate and consistent, over and over. Just step on for 3-5 seconds and step off. Big, lit, read out, easy to see and read, day of night. Very stylish. It said we should receive in 5-8 biz days………..we got it in 3 days. Good deal.

This is a great purchase for anyone who wants to make some high-quality photo prints! Can you do better at a professional shop? Probably, but not by much. For the home or office, there isn’t much else out there that could do a better job, especially if you don’t need to produce extremely professional photographic images. You will certainly think these are, however, and so will anyone who sees them. Also, for this price, you absolutely will not find a better deal. I was shocked when I saw the results, knowing how much this unit cost. Granted, it was more when it first came out, so if you were waiting on the right printer for the right price, stop waiting! Canon has a long-standing history and reputation for high-quality photos and reasonable rates. You will not find a better printer at this price level than the Pixma Pro9000 MkII. Unless you plan on scrutinizing the images for Pentagon-level research, then you will be amazed at the clarity and resolution.

The eight toner cartridges might seem a bit much, but they are all there for a reason. The setup too a bit longer than I’m used to, and I’ve set up a fair amount of printers in my day. But, it’s all worth it. The manual is also a bit bulky and lengthy, but for good reason. One last little complaint… my first print job (aside from the test page) did not go through at the first try, but I made one minor adjustment and it was just fine.

I could not speak more highly about the end result of this product, though. I was really amazed and impressed by what we ended up with. My friends tell me this printer should have cost four to five times what we paid for it. Take that for what you will. This was definitely the best printer purchase I think I’ve ever made, though, and I could not be happier with it.

You know, I first tried to read this book when it first came out and it offended me. Now all these years later, I picked volumes 1 and 2 up at my local library. Still feel the same way. There are so many wonderful sacred texts to read why would anyone waste their time with this? The real clincher for me came in volume two when he is discussing sex and children. And I quote: (Page 105)

” In some societies, parents couple in full view of their offspring-and what could give children a greater sense of the beauty and the wonder and the pure joy and the total okayness of the sexual expression of love than this?”

This simply outrages me. This guy is one sick puppy.

With the recent death of its author, J.D. Salinger, I felt that it was time to finally do something I have been intending to do for years, read his classic. I was disappointed. Maybe it was because I had high expectations after all the hype. Maybe it was because I kept expecting something to happen, you know, the classic building action, climax, resolution thing. This book is nothing like this.

Written about a couple of days in the life of a teen who was newly expelled from yet another private high school, the author explores the traditionally pessimistic, skeptic, somewhat depressing view that youth has about the world created by his predecessors. Written with plenty of voice, this book is an enjoyable read, as the reader waits for something to develop. I could almost hear the voice of this book’s contemporary, Jack Kerouac, in the pages. But nothing does happen. Maybe that was the author’s point. In any case, I found that disappointing.

This pedometer accurately counts steps. However, it won’t start counting until after 4 seconds of walking so that it won’t count non-steps, or shuffling, which, I think, is a little too long. For instance, I may take 10 or so steps to travel from one room in my house to the next, but it won’t count those steps unless I continue to walk. I’ve just learned to continue walking (or walking in place) to make sure all my steps count.

The pedometer is pretty big too.

Overall, I’m happy with it. I’ve two other pedometers before and I think this one is the most accurate.

I tried desperately not to go to the dark side. I was a big fan of Open Office…until I used it more and more. MS Office is faster and easier to use. It also has features amenable to tablet PC use that are seamless. I often sign by hand (on my tablet) and fax documents I create. Previously, I had to print to windows journal, sign, and then print to pdf. With the inking features built into Word, I can sign to my document “directly”, save it as a pdf and then fax it with fewer steps, all without using any paper. MS office just works more intuitively than Open Office, for instance it is much simpler to set up a background for a slide show presentation in Power Point than in Open Office Impress.

Bill Gates is my father.

I have a Canon MP 620 printer which I think is a great device but it does tend to use a lot of ink (or maybe I just print a lot) so having the 3 pack makes it easy to be ready for when I need to.

What I’ve found works for me is to get the 3 pack of the PGI-220 and then the color ink (Canon 2946B004 CLI-221 4 Color Value Pack (Black/Cyan/Magenta/Yellow)) in the 4 pack and finally deal with any intermediate outages through an individual purchases.

This means I have replacements for all the ink as needed and never have to urgently get some.

I admit that I was hesitant to purchase an SDHC card that wasn’t one of the big name brands. I’ll tell you now that I’m glad I didn’t waste my money on a brand name. This card has worked flawlessly in my daughter’s Kodak camera for the last three months.

Got it recently, put it into my new camera and voila… pics are stored. Took it out and put it into my computer to download…. No problem. Formated it again in my camera to delete all old pics… Works fine. For the price, well worth it. Bought a lot of cheap ones from China but 85% of them don’t work. If it is too cheap, usually a good reason. With these memory card prices dropping a great deal, don’t buy the fake cheap ones. Wouldn’t want to lose pics of my kids to save another $5 or so….
